Since 2001, our teams and clinics have served several hundred local kids. The ethnic composition of these participants is 55% African American, 24% Asian, 20% Hispanic, and 1% Caucasian. We have continuously increased participation and are currently piloting a summer coaching program for eligible Alumni. We continually involve additional students through introductory clinics and academic tutoring.

According to MLK's research, 52.1% of its students are classified as Educationally Disadvantaged Youth. According to the US Census, within this area of San Francisco, the median income is $17,000 and the literacy rate is approximately 50%.
