U-15 Boys' team

We field a U15 boys’ team which participates in the NCJLA.  This team generally fields 7th and 8th graders, although we do permit 6th graders to play.  We'd love to add a U-13 team, which would be 5th and 6th graders - round up your friends for the 2013 season!  Participation is free and equipment is provided.  Players must commit to the LIFE tenets, maintain grades and behavior and participate in "give back" and fundraising.  The season runs from February through mid-May.

High School Boys' team
We are absolutely thrilled to be part of building the first public school lacrosse teams of any age in the City of San Francisco!  2011 was the first season for the Washington Eagles.  While the majority of players attend Washington High, ANY student registered in the San Francisco Unified School District may participate!  Participation is free and equipment is provided. Players must commit to the LIFE tenets, maintain grade and behavior standards and participate in "give back" and fundraising.  The season runs from February through mid-May, with Fall Ball and fundraising beginning in late September.

High School Girls' team
The Lady Eagles enjoyed their first season in 2011 and are excited for 2012.  While the majority of players attend Washington High, ANY student registered in the San Francisco Unified School District may participate! Participation is free and equipment is provided.  Players must commit to the LIFE tenets, maintain grade and behavior standards and participate in "give back" and fundraising.  The season runs from February through mid-May, with Fall Ball and fundraising beginning in September.

Alumni Program
We've always considered all boys who played on our team "Bulldogs for LIFE".  With the addition of the Washington Eagles, now all Alums are "LIFE-ers"! Any alumni who continues to play lacrosse, maintain his or her grades and "gives back" is in good standing.  We commit to providing lacrosse equipment to these young people and offer them the opportunities of continued enrichment and academic assistance.  At age 16 or after their sophomore year, alums can apply to our Alumni Job Program, which trains youth on writing a resume, filling out applications and interview skills.  Upon successful completion, they are eligible to apply for SummerLIFE coaching positions.

Weis Academic Assistance Scholarship Program
Through the extraordinary generosity of the Weis Family, we are now building the AASP.  All youth who commit to a team are eligible for consideration for financial assistance for educational pursuits.  Acceptable requests include funding for high school and college applications, standardized test preparation, books for college and in some cases, classes for job training.

SummerLIFE Programs
We recognize the importance of regular physical activity and the influence of positive peer and mentor relationships. We have programs over the summer which are geared toward returning players (those who have played on one of our teams) and new players.  SummerLIFE clinics and drop-ins are a great way to see if you like lacrosse before making a commitment to a season.  It's also a fun way to stay in shape and work on skills for returners!

External Camp Opportunities: Through the generosity of local and national camp directors, youth who have participated on a team in the spring season are eligible to participate in summer camps held throughout the country. Interested youth must complete a Scholarship Application and be accepted in order to attend.  Camp spots are competitive, with SummerBounce and All West overnight camps being highly selective.

Internal Camp Opportunities: Sleep-away camp isn't for everyone, and family schedules can be hectic throughout the summer months.  We offer casual "drop-in" clinics for kids who want to throw around, hang out with friends and meet new ones! These clinics are held at Washington High School and Gilman Rec Center.  Check our Calendar for current offerings.

After-school program
Since 2009 we have joined with Hunters Point Family to provide lacrosse at their after-school program, held at Gilman Rec Center.  One day a week, after the kids do homework, their enrichment activity is lacrosse.  Thanks to our great donors, we are able to leave a goal and lacrosse gear at Gilman so the kids can play lax even if our staff and volunteers aren't there.
